Nikon D500 Release and my thoughts
New Nikon D500
After having my Nikon D300S for a number of years and the shutter count was getting near getting it replaced by Nikon, but keep shooting with this camera. In the meantime, I have seen newer cameras released and nothing on the replaced yet for the D300S.
Sure lots of rumors pouring out and still the Nikon D300S was on the ignore list by Nikon. So I made a decision to spend the extra dollars and purchase the D4S camera because I did not think that this camera was ever going to get out. Now after purchasing the D4S a year ago and the replacement Nikon-D500 is released go figure. The specs look really good and now I will have to think about this camera, but not 100% yet on this purchase a bit pricey right now.
Here are the specs that caught my eye.
Powerful new 153-point AF system delivers superior subject acquisition performance across a wider range of situations.
New EXPEED 5 image-processing engine achieves superior image quality and sensitivity up to ISO 51200, expandable to Hi 5 (equivalent to ISO 1640000).
Approx. 10 fps continuous shooting (up to 200 shots in 14-bit lossless compressed RAW) captures decisive, split-second moments.
4K UHD video (30p), suitable for professional productions.
I think this is going to be a camera that will be well welcomed by those that had the older Nikon D300 and D300S cameras. I would really enjoy the 4K video just to see the captures from this camera. As I said before, I will wait to see the reviews and video capture before I make a discison here.
